* The Republican controlled Georgia legislature made voting more restrictive in 2021. The so-called Election Integrity Act reduces time for absentee voting, limits vote drop boxes, changes ID requirements and permits the legislature to remove voting officials.
* Also, Coweta's voting districts have been changed by redistricting. The U.S. Constitution requires a census every ten years so that elected representatives have equal populations As a result of the the 2020 census,. voting districts have been redrawn. See where to vote at my voter page: https://mvp.sos.ga.gov/.
Absentee Voting By Mail TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE.
Because of the new shortened mail-in ballot period, Democrats advise those who are able to get to the polls, to VOTE EARLY AND VOTE IN PERSON
* Any registered Georgian may vote absentee for any reason.
* Because of restricted period made by the 2021 Georgia Republican legislature, a voter's (1) absentee voting ballot request and (2) return of the completed absentee ballot, must be made quickly. There is little time for correction of mistakes, so fill in carefully.
* You must apply for an absentee ballot between 78 days to 11 days, before the election date. Electionn Day is November 8, 2022.
* The County may not mail the ballot earlier than 4 weeks before the election date.
* A photo ID is required to both request a ballot and fill out the ballot. A Ga Driver's Licence or valid Ga ID provide a required identifying number. To get free Voter ID help, call or text 844-338-8743 or chair.cowetadems@gmail.com
